1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES J Divisions of the stables trained by J. J. Flanigan, S. W. Ward, Howard Wells, and several others that remained here for the closing days of the meeting, got away for Lincoln Fields. Acting for Charles Cleary, of Chicago, Cliff Porter purchased from Jack Howard, the two-year-old, Calexico, a son of Chicle, and two others of the same age which have not been named. They are a gelding by Iclam— Southern Queen and a filly by the same sire from Mollie Myhill. L. W. Ulmer, owner of several horses trained by B. B. Rice, was a visitor for the final day of the meeting. The Ulmer horses and others handled by Rice are to be shipped to Delaware Park. With the racers of Jack Howard, they leave Thursday for the Wilmington course. Howard is sending six. Another going to that eastern course is Steve Judge with the Woodvale Farm horses. He ships Tuesday. J. J. Russell, Lou Cahn, Bobby Bowers and Ernie Mooar, all dockers on the Western circuit for several years, left for Lincoln Fields, while Joe Hardwick, another expert with the split-second instrument, leaves Tuesday for Delaware Park. Charles Grayson is shipping Silver Horn, Jockeb and Brush Handle to Lincoln Fields. In the same car H. H. Battle will load Black Mischief, Queenie and The Queen and Ray Kindred the horses he is training for Walmac Farm and H. G. Shoemaker. Charles Stevenson, who came here from Suffolk Downs to ride Last Message in the Kentucky Oaks, returned to Boston. When Last Message failed to share in the Oaks Purse, it marked the first time th daughter of Hustle On had finished worse than third in her two campaigns. Baylor Hickman, E. J. Reed, A. M. Jacobus, J. P. Jones, Frank Swain, J. T. Weaver, John McShane and Tom Sanford were others transferring their stables to Lincoln Fields. •
