Start good and slow for all but Matosha. Won easily; second and third driving. COLONEL B. B. improved his position gradually, took command in the stretch, then drew out to win with something left. MATOSHA, slow to leave the gate, moved up rapidly approaching the stretch, responded gamely to strong riding and might have been best. DONALD W. displayed keen speed for a half mile, then tired. CLARICE McCLAIN closed resolutely from a slow beginning. LE KARONGA, in close quarters most of the way, came fast when clear. VILLA BANQUET had no excuses. BELVALOU had early speed. SWEETEST HEART quit. BURLINGTON BILL, rank at the post, broke well, but could not keep up. CINDYS LINDY had early speed. Overweight — Donald W., 2 pounds; Sweetest Heart. 2. JOSEPHINE D., slow to settle into stride, weaved her way between horses, came fast in the final stages, overhauled the leaders, and was ready to draw clear. KAI-FINN attained a commanding lead early, continued gamely to the final sixteenth, then tired. CAREFUL KITTY, a strong factor throughout, held on with good courage in the final stages. LAUREL WREATH, on the outside throughout, gave a fine performance, and should benefit by the effort. BOILING had no excuses. THORESE GIRL finished strongly from a slow beginning VERA CROFTON was forced to take up several times during the running. FLETUS went well under strong riding. THELMA DOR went well. OAKHAM, well ridden and hustled into a commanding lead early, continued well under occasional pressure, but had to be roused briskly in the final stages to outfinish OVLOP. The latter, slow to get going and forced to race wide while improving his position, closed with belated speed and was getting to the winner. MARY N., never far back, responded gamely, and gave a good performance. LANELL improved her position gradually, and finished with good courage. AVENUE S. and MISS MONACO began slowly, but finished strongly. TANGO QUEEN tired. AMAZER. rank at the post and apparently in need of the race, displayed early speed, then tired. KLISTER, taken under mild reserve tarly, moved up fast when urged, took command without need 1 of pressure, then drew out to win with plenty left. MY VALLEY attained a long lead early, maintained his advantage to the final three-sixteenths, gave way when challenged, then outfinished BOMOUNT. The latter, prominent throughout, held on with good courage in the drive. HU CAR, apparently in need of the race, left the gate slowly, was far back for three eighths, then improved his position thereafter, but was never dangerous. FERVORITA could not keep up. ONO improved his position gradually, responded gamely to strong riding and finished with good courage. CATWALK went well under a hustling ride. WEEDIDIT had no excuses. SCOTLAND BEAUTY, well up for three-quarters, tired when subjected to punishment. NIGHT GAIL dropped out of it at the start then failed to respond to punishment in a rather dull performance.
