RACING AT QUEBEC ASSURED Agreement With Government Over Tax Will Permit the Operation of Tracks — Dates Schedule Soon. MONTREAL, Que., May 30.— Under a new compromise which cuts the government tax down to forty-two and a half per cent instead of the forty-five per cent proffered on Friday, there will be racing in Quebec this summer. W. R. Bullock, M.L.A., and Leo Dandur-and met Premier Duplessis this morning and the latter agreed to a new schedule, stressing that he only wished to meet all concerned in a fair manner. -—"" The daily tax of seventy-five dollars a day remains the same. If the tracks lose mony the tax wil. be reduced to forty per cent. If | they make money they agree to accept the i forty-five per cent imposed as suggested by the government. So with the air cleared racing will go on as in former years. The clubs have had no chance to discuss even a tentative program tf dates but will likely ijsuo the dates at a meeting of the track owners tomorrow when L:»u Smith will have i3turned from Boston to represent Kings Park. Leo Dandurand and Jules Dugal will represent Blue Bonnets, while Tommy Gorman represents Ottawa in the alignment of dates for the season. — A
