1 THORNCLIFFE PARK NOTES | s — 4, W. Halliburton, Sr., arrived from Montreal Monday morning with his useful stable, which includes Mrs. A. M. Jacksons Lord Dean and Lady Kiluna, and Foresight, Joggle and Woodsight, which perform in his own interests. Parity, Lugano and Espinaca, the property of A. J. Halliwell, arrived at Thorn-cliffe Park from Suffolk Downs. O. B. Home purchased the plater Broadcaster from O. Anderson and turned him over to J. H. Wood to train. Former jockey R. Watson joined the ranks of the Benedicts when he was united in marriage to Miss H. Clegg on Monday evening at his home on Westmoreland Avenue. Allan Case was in the stand as steward representing the horsemen for the opening day of the Thorncliffe meeting. Two claims were registered in the final two races at Woodbine Park on Saturday. H. Tomlin took Winged Flight from the Erindale Stable, while Back Fence was claimed by Mrs. Y. Woolgar. Leo D. raced in the interest of R. F. Porter in the fourth race Monday and is trained by E. Bowie. Eddie Pollard, custodian of the jockey quarters at Thorncliffe Park, reports that fifty-eight badges have been issued to riders for the meeting. The Parkwood Stables juvenile, Sea Cadet, was withdrawn from the third event when he stepped on a stone at Woodbine Park Monday morning while being breezed. He suffered a severe injury and the veterinarian upon examination feared that a small bone had been dislocated. Jockey W. Halliburton arrived from Montreal with the stable of his father and made application for a license to ride from the Independent Canadian Racing Association.
