1 NARRAGANSETT PARK NOTES F. Smock has been engaged by L. H. Smith to ride Clodion in the Spring Handicap, feature of Saturdays opening day program. Clarence L. Boston, secretary to racing administrator Louis R. Gerry, with chief inspector Major William J. Thibodeau, moved into offices in the administration building today. Trainer Harvey Campbell was the first to apply for a trainers license. Jockey J. Bowen reported to his contract owner, R. A. Coward, today. Bowen, who had both collar-bones broken in a fall at New Orleans, will be in the saddle next week. Whitey "The liing" Wilson, tanned from Florida suns, and Howard Reynolds, Boston sports writer, tanned from state of Maine winds, dusted off their seats in the Narra gansett press box preparatory to getting back to work Saturday. Hanii Trudeau has purchased from Myron Selznick, movie magnate, the three-year-old Who Done It, by Whichone Friar Bell. Trudeau will campaign the maiden "in New England. Steward Tom Thorp arrived from Maryland. Robbie Robertson arrived from a long winter in the South. Workmen finished the fitting out of the press coop. The telegraph wires were strung and typewriters installed, ready for the advent of the turf writers Saturday. Horace Wade tested the public address horns and Harry I. Day tested the "electric eye" camera. Mort Mahoney and his assistant, Earl Waldron, at the 2 oclock roll call Thursday, interviewed hundreds looking for employment in the mutuel plant.
