SNYDER SEEKS 5,000 BAIL LOS ANGELES, Calif., April 21. Martin Moses Snyder, who faces a lengthy prison term for his pistol assault on Myrl Alderman, husband of Ruth Etting, Snyders former wife, was trying hard today to raise 5,000 for bail purposes. Snyder appealed the verdict finding him guilty of assault but has been in the county jail pending the appeal, unable to raise bail, first set at 0,000 and then reduced to 5,000 and finally to 5,000. The 5,000 figure was set yesterday by Judge Thomas Ambrose, who heard the trial, on request of Snyders counsel, Jerry Giesler. Snyder, familiarly known as "The Gimp," was found guilty of shooting and wounding Alderman last winter- in Hollywood, when he went to Aldermans home in an attempt to persuade Miss Etting to give Alderman up and return to him.
