RELINQUISHES HOLIDAY DATE Bay Meadows Transfers Decoration Day Date to Hollywood Park To Close on May 27. SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 21. William P. Kyne, general manager of Bay Meadows, announced today that the Decoration Day date scheduled to be filled at the San Mateo track, had been transferred to Hollywood Park. The southern plant, which staged a highly successful opening meeting last summer, will get under way Tuesday, May 30, while Bay Meadows will close Saturday, May 27. Kyne stated that one day of the Bay Meadows schedule would be devoted to charity, the proceeds to be given to the Chirstmas Fund of the four San Francisco newspapers. According to Kyne, the Bay Meadows Handicap will be staged for a purse -of at least 0,000, with Kayak II., Santa Anita Handicap winner, and Main Man, which finished third in that 00,000 event, almost certain to start. Main Man put in a stiff workout over the Hollywood Park track this morning in preparation for the race, while Kayak II. worked out at Tanforan Wednesday afternoon, going a half mile in :48. Kayak II. has picked up some weight and seems in perfect condition. With the transfer of the Decoration Day date to Hollywood Park, Bay Meadows will stage twenty-four days of racing this spring. Tanforan raced a like number of days.
