HALF-DOZEN IN BEN AH KeenelancTs Second Stake Attracts Small Field Footing Off. Burning Star Is Outstanding Among Those Named Sir Marlboro the Only Three-Year-Old Named. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 21 With the Keeneland track again in an off condition as the result of showers during the night, the Ben Ali Handicap, second of the four stakes to be offered during the eleven-day meeting, attracted only six overnight entrants for its renewal tomorrow afternoon, but they appear to be well-matched, and a good contest is expected from the ,500 added affair of a mile and one-sixteenth. Outstanding among the sextet of Ben Ali candidates is Burning Star, the Shandon Farm star which began his five-year-old campaign here recently with a creditable victory. He is the top weight, with 120 pounds, since Bull Lea declined because of track conditions, and will be ridden by Warren Yarberry, as he was the other day. Last season the son of Burning Blaze won the Philadelphia Handicap, and the previous year he was high up in the three-year-old division. Opposing Burning Blaze will be two other stake winners of last season, Hal Price Head-leys Flying Lee and Louise J. Hickmans Arabs Arrow. The former accounted for the Kentucky Oaks last spring, and during the winter she outgamed Sweet Nancy in the Santa Margarita Handicap at Santa Anita. The veteran Arabs Arrow was victorious in the Louisville, Churchill Downs and Latonia Handicaps, and placed in numerous other events last season. Johnny Oros, the nations leading rider, drew the mount on the Head-ley filly, which has been assigned 108 pounds, Continued on thirty-second page.
