100 PER CENT PRODUCTION Seven Young Coldstream Stud Mares Mated, Produce Foals First Year Shaffer, Jr., in Control in June. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 21. As the world is aware, Bull Dog1, French-born son of Teddy from Plucky Liege, is Coldstream Studs premier sire. Under C. B. Shaffers jplan for upbuilding of the now famous breeding establishment, which is to pass into possession and control of Elmer Dale Shaffer after his graduation in June, daughters of Bull Dog have become members of the matronly band when retired from racing. Last year seven of these young mares were mated, each with a different stallion, and this year there is a foal from each mare. This 100 per cent production is so unusual that it became a matter of comment in Kentucky breeding circles. Stud manager Charles A. Kenney obliged with the following interesting list of the foals and accompanying comment: Chestnut colt, by The Porter Floradora, by Bull Dog. Floradora won Alabama Stakes, Maryland Handicap, etc. Foal is possibly best we have, even though a first foal. Mare to Sickle this year. Bay filly, by Display Nectarine, by Bull Dog. Nectarine, winner of Miami Beach Handicap, is sister to Bull Lea. Nice filly. Mare to Hard Tack. EEALLY GOOD COLT. Brown colt, by St. Germans Log, by Bull Dog. Log won the Hialeah Stakes, etc. This is a compact, very smart colt. Really good p individual. Mare to Reaping Reward. Bay colt, by Pharamond II. Evening Tide, by Bull Dog. Evening Tide, winner of Test Stakes, is sister to Evening Shadow. Her dam, Etoile Filante, sister to Chatterton, is also dam of High Quest, etc. Etoile Filante was bought by Marshall Field for 2,000. Nice colt; on the fine side, like his dam. Mare to Reaping Reward. Dark bay filly, by American Flag Top-horn, by Bull Dog. Tophorn, sister to Bui- wark, was a winner. Lovely filly, very quick. Mare to Reaping Reward. Bay colt, by Pot au Feu Joybird, by Bull Dog. Joybird is half-sister to good winner Pot au Brooms: Good colt. We have a brother to this foal at Louisville that can run.
