1 BEULAH PARK TURF NOTES s s Tom Moran, veteran race track official, was appointed clerk of scales for Beulah Parks spring meeting, which gets under way Saturday. The appointment was announced by Robert J. Dienst, president and general manager of the Beulah Park Jockey Club, Inc. Moran is not a newcomer to Beulah, having served in various official capacities at the Grove City .course in recent years. He was an understudy to the late Herbert J. "Whitey" Kohl and often "pinched hit" for him. Presiding steward Thomas C. Bradley is due to arrive at Beulah from his home in Lexington, Ky., where he has been resting since the close of the New Orleans meeting. E. W. "Ted" Stribling and Owen Pons will act as associate stewards. Starter W. C. "Bill" Daly has been on hand for several days, while Fred V. Burton, new racing secretary, was scheduled to check in Thursday. With the exception of the I. J. Collins string, all stables that had stall reservations have arrived. Carter Everitt, trainer, has advised Beulah officials that he expected to arrive Thursday.
