t NARRAGANSETT PARK NOTES f g Jockey Warren Van Tassel, Waltham, Mass., lad, after a successful season on the West Coast, will make his riding debut in New England on opening day at Narragansett Park. Lyman Brusie has taken over the string of R. C. Hanna to train. Apprentice S. La-Fitte is attached to the stable and will do the lightweight work. Arthur Sands is making the engagements for LaFitte. Ralph "Babe" Rubenstein will broadcast one eevnt each afternoon for the New England Colonial network. William J. Thibedeau has been appointed chief inspector at Narragansett Park by Administrator of Racing and Athletics Louis C. Gerry. State steward Frank J. Bryan and Tom Thorp spent a busy morning Friday passing upon licenses. The licensing of jockeys will not be passed on until the arrival of Sam Nuchols, who is due Friday afternoon. W. Sorrentino arrived from Florida with the platers Last Romance, Onrush and Miss Martis. G. Felkner has taken first call on jockey N. L. Pierson for the Narragansett Park meeting. Ben Lister, Providence mill owner, has the signal honor of being the first Rhode Islander to have produce of his own breeding establishment at Narragansett. Lister has four two-year-olds three by Clock Tower and the other by Don Leon. Horace Wade will again be on the public address system describing the running of the races. George Odom, Jr., filed a license application for jockey Don Meade, who is coming from New York to ride Early Delivery in the Spring Handicap. It seems as if Meade will have a busy day, no less than twenty horsemen awaiting his arrival in an effort to secure his services. Jockey C. Compton has entered the employ of Mrs. P. A. Shaw and will do the riding for that establishment during the New England season.
