BLACKMONT was outrun in the first part, worked his way between horses in the early running, moved to the outside for the stretch run and closed fast. CHERISH, on the inside from the start, held on well. ROMANCER was close up all the way, but faltered in the final furlong. ART BROWN bore over sharply after the start and bothered BELLCLAPPER and SARAWAK was under restraint in the running, but flattened out sharply at the end. PELOPS had early speed, but quit badly.
