Passing of Mrs. Cushing BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 9. — The Green tree Stable silks were in 1 retirement today, as John Hay Whitney and his sister, Mrs. Charles Shipman Pay-son, • owners of the popular stable, mourned I the death on Sunday of Mrs. Katharine . Crowell Cushing. Mrs. Cushing, 78, was the widow of Dr. Harvey Cushing, noted brain surgeon, and mother of Mrs. John Hay Whitney, Mrs. Vincent Astor, Mrs. William 1 S. Paley and Henry Kirke Cushing. Another • son, William Cushing, was killed in i an accident in 1926. Mrs. Cushing died at t New York Hospital and funeral services 5 will be held at 11:30 a. m. tomorrow at Holy Trinity Church, 318 East 88th street. !
