Obash Once Runner on Flat PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 9. — Obash, the 11-year-old gelding racing for J. G. Douglas, Jr., in the steeplechase today, is a horse with a very peculiar record. Trained now by Emmett Roberts, Obash did not start his career as a jumper. He is by Ut Majeur out of Moti Mahal and was bred by the Prince Aga Khan in Eire. He started once this season at Middle-burg, Va., finished second to My Good Man in a steeplechase. Last year he started once in a steeplechase at Saratoga, losing his rider. Prior to that, he had not been in action since 1942 when one of his most notable performances was a second to Alsab, beaten a head, in the two mile and a quarter New York Handicap at Belmont Park.
