Pimlico Yearling Show Attracts Entries of 68 Abram S. Hewitt Will Judge Offerings of 32 Breeders PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 9.— Thirty-two breeders have entered yearlings in the fifteenth annual Pimlico yearling show, to be held on the clubhouse lawn on Thursday, starting at 10 a. m. In all, 68 colts and fillies have been entered in the four classes of the show, which will be judged by the Virginia breeder, Abram S. Hewitt, who bred and raised Phalanx, among other good winners. The winner of each class will receive a silver trophy presented by one of Marylands four mile tracks as well as a cash award given by the Maryland State Fair Board. The Maryland Horse Breeders* Association, which sponsors the show, will award a championship trophy to the best yearling exhibited. The public is invited to attend the affair, for which no admission is charged. Many of Marylands stallions will be represented, including Discovery, Peace Chance, Occupy, New World, Alaking, Charing Cross, Swing and Sway and Abbe Pierre. There will be an amateur judging contest in which the public will be invited to try to place the yearlings as does the official judge. Silver awards will be given the man and woman coming closest to Hewitts lineup for the class. Breeders participating in the show include Alfred G. Vanderbit, Henry L. Straus, Grant Thorn, Merryland Farm, G. Ray Bryson, Country Life Farm, Alan T. Clarke, Mrs. R. H. Heighe, Walter A. Edgar, L. S. MacPhail, C. E. Tuttle and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Nelson.
