THUNDER HOOF, away alertly, was reserved back of the early pace, came out for the drive and drew clear under punishment. DUCK BERRY responded gamely when roused for the stretch run, but could not overtake the winner. KNIGHTS HILL was outrun early, but closed with a belated rush. WISKTIGER caught tiring horses. OUTSKIRTS was much used engaging for the early advantage and had little left at the finish. MISS TARTAN failed to stay after racing prominently until inside the stretch. MUN was never dangerous. MARTHARINE was forced to take up slightly when in close quarters on the first turn and came again when clear, but weakened when set down for the final test. CLE0 LADY was shuffled back on the upper turn, then lacked a menacing rally. LIEUT. DAN never entered contention. DARK HEATHER was outrun. DIRECTOR lacked speed and pulled up lame.
