JERSEY BOUNCE wrested command from the inside after a quarter and, under continued pressure, gradually drew out. AUGUST FOLLY broke well, raced true and, while unable to menace the top one, held on fairly well. PLUMELETTE, outrun to the last eighth, made up ground with a belated rush when set down for the drive. COME EARLY had speed for three-eighths and weakened. HAPPY RABBIT made up some ground in the late stages. B0NIB0YLE failed to threaten. BUCKIEGIRL displaced COME EARLY for the lead soon after the break, but gave way under punishment after a quarter. Jacobs; bred by Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark. WENT TO P0ST-1 :48. OFF AT 1:481 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. ROCKLYE followed in close attendance to the pace for half a mile, assumed command from the outside while under mild urging rounding the stretch turn and, under a hard drive through the stretch, held GAFFER safe. The latter, slow to begin, was under a stout hold to the turn, rallied from the extreme outside when roused for the drive and finished full of run. PROMOTION was never far back, saved ground most of the way, but failed to rally when set down for the drive. HICKORY LEA was under energetic handling early to attain the lead, saved some ground, but gave way readily when challenged by the winner. BLUE THANKS had no mishap in an even effort. RAGS TO RICHES passed tiring horses in the late stages. LITTLE TOPPER was through early. The others were far back. Stoddard, Jr.; bred by Greentree Stable. WENT TO POST-2:18. OFF AT 2:19 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second driving. RAPIER, a forward factor from the start, responded readily to urging after clearing the ninth fence to take command and drew into a long lead approaching the last jump and won as his rider pleased. REPOSE, slow to begin, trailed the field without urging to the tenth fence, where under pressure he made a bold move nearing the last fence, but had nothing left for the drive. HIGH FATE assumed command after five jumps and then fell and lost rider while clearing the tenth fence, with the rider remounting and finishing the course for third money, but came back lame. ISEEYOU was never far back, moved up strongly approaching the last fence, but fell after clearing the jump and the rider remounted and finished the course for fourth money. CHESTY, slow to reach his best stride, circled his field when rallying rounding the stretch turn to respond readily to increased pressure through the stretch and wear down SIS BRIER and held JHANSI safe. The latter, also slow to begin, saved ground much of the way and when set down for the drive and made a belated challenge. PIE LADY had no mishap in an even effort. ADVANCE, away slowly, was steadied to the last quarter and finished full of run under extreme pressure, c SIS BRIER tired from her early efforts. ETERNALLEA broke very sluggishly. ONE HITTER, hard held while saving * ground, rallied and came to the outside rounding the stretch turn and, under a hard drive, wore down BAR SINISTER and was up to win in the closing strides. The latter forced the pace in hand, saved ground to the stretch, where while taking command, commenced drifting out through the stretch and just failed to last. LOW AND HIGH made the pace in hand, lost command an eighth out and held on fairly well under a sustained drive, but was in close quarters nearing the wire. COUNT-A-BIT, taken under snug restraint and brought to the inside early, was roused near the last quarter and drove up on the inside entering the stretch, but faltered under punishment in the last eighth. CHALLENGE LIKE had speed and saved ground much of the way, but gave way readily when challenged. SPATS raced very wide throughout and lacked a closing rally. The latter had speed, also raced on the outside throughout and, under severe pressure in the drive, attempted to lug in and just failed to last. ORBIT broke slowly and was hard held for the first half mile, found racing room between horses when set down" for the drive and made a bold bid. ANGEL OF WAR made up some ground in the late stages. SPACE SHIP forced the pace in hand to the stretch, but failed to raliy when roused for the drive. UNCLE HAL was never a factor. SOCIAL HOUR gave way steadily after a half mile.
