Blanks for Monmouth Park Stakes Sent to Horsemen OCEANPORT, N. J., May 9. — Stake blanks were issued today to horsemen, covering Monmouth Parks 1949 stakes schedule which features the approaching June 17-August 10 racing season. Blanks were released simultaneously in Chicago, New Jersey, New England, New York and Kentucky, and nominations to the 95,000 in stakes are to close approximately three weeks hence on June 1. The mile and a quarter of the Monmouth . Handicap and Choice Stakes, endowed at 5,000 added each, are the richest and longest events on Monmouth Parks calendar. During its brief modern day history, the Monmouth, to be run July 23, has attracted the leading thoroughbreds in the East, being won by such stars as Lucky Draw, Round View and Tide Rips. The Choice Stakes is restricted to the three -year-old colony and outstanding sophomores will test the gruelling route for this rich event. Both the Monmouth and Choice are carry-overs from Monmouth Parks glittering past, resurrected when new Monmouth opened its gates in 1948-
