RED PASS, unhurried when outrun early, came to the complete outside for the stretch run and wore down ESSAYIST in the concluding stride. ESSAYIST gave way momentarily to COMETS GLOW entering the stretch, regained command between calls and held on tenaciously in a sharp effort. COMETS GLOW forged to the front nearing the furlong marker and raced gamely thereafter while under brisk urging. SEA TALE rallied too late to become an endangering factor. GUSTO tired, as did ORELSE. P0PADARIS dropped back soon after the start. NO CONTEST and EASTERN GLOW were always outrun. 0MAF0X showed nothing. BIG MISTER worked his way forward to gain closer contention when straightened for the drive and closed with good energy. PRIDE OF JUDEA failed to make up appreciable ground when set down for the drive. PRISM, shuffled back entering the stretch, rallied mildly when clear. WAR PRIZE was unable to attain the lead and tired. BRUCE bolted on the far turn and raced extremely wide thereafter, losing all chance., SMILING BILL, much used early, had nothing left. DAFFODIL began sluggishly. HELLCAT was outrun. JOE HOGAN repelled early challenges from MEADOW MINT and BOOMERANG, held a clear lead when settled for the stretch run and gamely withstood ESCARP. The latter raced forwardly placed from soon after the start, rallied gamely when shaken up and closed determinedly. GENTtE STAR failed to make up appreciable ground when hard ridden through the late stages. EASTCELL was unable to improve his position when placed to pressure. KNOCKS TWICE began sluggishly. BLUE PLATE was outrun: BOOMERANG* and MEADOW MINT tired. REPOSE bobbled and almost went down on the first hurdle and failed to recover. SPRINGDALE was through early. RAMILLION quit. WHEN IN ROME, cleverly ridden, slipped through next to the inside rail to take command on the final turn and held sway under brisk urging. FLAPPER, forwardly placed between horses, tried to drift out on the turns, interfering with BOLD IMP, then closed willingly when straightened. BOLD IMP, carried out slightly on the far turn, was unable to seriously menace the leaders when set down for the final tst MAINSAIL tired when punished. TALORA passed tiring horses. ATOMIC FLEET, far back early, was unable to endanger the winner during the stretch run, but easily prevailed over the others. EDNAS PICK stumbled and went to her knees at the start, recovered readily to improve her position to the stretch, but failed to sufficiently rally when placed to punishment. DARK ROYAL, much used early, had little left. WIGWAM quit. TROPICAL was outrun. PAL0S never threatened. GRECIAN QUEEN was allowed to settle into best stride, responded readily when shaken up to wear down CANADIANA midway in the final furlong and drew clear under intermittent urging. CANADIANA outsprinted her rivals into thefirst turn to assume a commanding lead, held sway to the stretch under steady rating, shortened stride when challenged and was unable to withstand the winner. SABETTE, reserved back of the early leaders, came fast when roused, but was unable to seriously endanger the top ones. BALLERINA raced closest to the leader during the run down the backstretch, then failed to sufficiently respond when called upon. MING YELLOW made up some ground during the late stages. SCRIPT was never formidable. QUEENS MOON, bumped on the first turn, never recovered. HOWS TRICKS was unprepared at the start and lost all chance.
