To Sell Rest of Goodwin Horses at Auction July 30 Fifteen Broodmares and Sire Papa Redbird Will Be Offered LEXINGTON, Ky., June 24.— The Breeders Sales Company announced today that it will conduct a dispersal sale at 10 oclock Thursday morning, July 30, at its sales pavilion located at Keeneland race course. Included in this sale will be the remainder of the thoroughbred holdings owned by the Estate of Joseph A. Goodwin and two broodmares owned by Binglin Stock Farm, the latter representing the final step in the complete dispersal of this partnership organization. This sale is the day following the closing day of the companys annual summer yearling sale. Nineteen horses of racing age were dispersed by the sales company on the closing day of the 1953 Keeneland spring race meeting for the Estate of Mr. Goodwin and these horses grossed 4,700. There will be 15 broodmares offered by the estate, 11 being sold with sucklings at their sides. A Yv* rvr cr +V»*» vv-i o nra -full oio4-£iY*c? +rt ci i r»V handicap horses as Flyweight and Incoming, and * haif -sisters to Papa Redbird, Assault, Cochise, Turbine, Golden Bull and Beldine. All the mares are believed to be in foal at this date. Sires of the sucklings are Papa Redbird, Ky. Colonel, Easy Mon and Triplicate. In addition to the fashionable array of broodmares, the sale will be featured by offering the potentially fine sire Papa Red-bird. He is a stakes winner of 11 races, 31,375, including the Arlington Classic, Dick Welles Stakes, Curtain Up Handicap, and Ocean City Handicap. His first foals are now two-year-olds. Fourteen yearlings comprise the rest of the Goodwin complete dispersal. In this group are six colts and eight fillies by such sires as Papa Redbird, Bolero, Holdall and With Pleasure. The two broodmares to be sold by Binglin Stock Farm are Music Hall and Quiz Dizzy. Both mares have been bred to the outstanding racer, Noor, and both are believed to be in foal. Music Hall is represented in th£ summer yearling sale by a brown filly by Noor. Catalogues for the sale will be available June 30.
