Xrrays showed a broken bone on the fourth finger of the hand. The injury occurred in a "pepper" game two days ago. Physicians said a small cast would be put on the break and that Sauer would be able to play "after the swelling goes down." He was replaced in right field today by George Metkovich and Kiner dropped to his cleanup spot in the batting order. "Its a bone chip more than a break," Sauer said. "The doctor says Ill be out about eight days, but I think it will he less than that. I will be back as soon as I can hold a bat."
