Primate, Delegate Stony Brook Rivals Amagansett Hurdle Engages Eternal Son, Pintor and War Rhodes at Aqueduct Today AQUEDUCT, I., N. Y., June 24.— The ,000 Stony Brook Handicap, a classified event at seven furlongs, and the ,500 Amagansett Hurdle Handicap occupy the feature spots on tomorrows Aqueduct program. A field of eight, headed by Star-mount Stables Primate with 123 pounds; has been named for the Stony Brook, while the Amagansett has drawn a field of seven who will represent five interests in this scamper at about a mile and three-quarters. Primate, who is staging a comeback after having suffered a serious injury in his sophomore campaign last year, comes Irom an easy triumph at Belmont Park in which he galloped six panels in 1:11%. No rider was assigned this morning, but Hank Moreno is the likely pilot. also won his last at Belmont in the same time, gets in here with 114 pounds and the veteran retains sufficient class to be extremely dangerous, especially through"" the long Aqueduct stretch. Delegate is also riderless at this writing. Vera S. Braggs Trick Pilot, who has only 111 pounds to carry, will also have considerable support. This fellow was in close quarters most of the way in his last start at Belmont, finishing third to Hitex and Dulat while beaten two lengths in 1:11%. That was Trick Pilots second start of the year and he has been training cleverly since then. Bennie Green will ride. Others in Race The field for the. Stony Brook" is completed by Meyer J. Kaplans Sunshine Nell, i 110; Mrs. R. J. Maloney, Jr.s Contribution, 109; Wheatley Stables Hilarious, 106; Phantom Farms Nullify, and Hampton Stables Easy Whirl, 104 pounds each. Sunshine Nell showed considerable improvement when finishing second to Marta in an exceedingly fast mile and a sixteenth on June 17, and was fighting for the lead at the end of three-quarters in 1:10%. Hedley Woodhouse will ride the Sun Again mare. Contribution is an invader from California, where he raced creditably in sprint stakes. Hilarious comes from two very bad races in which he appeared to choke up, as though his respiratory trouble has recurred. Nullify and Easy Whirl finished third and fourth, soundly beaten, behind Arcave and Kaster in a recent mile at Belmont. Mill River Stables Eternal Son and Montpeliers Pintor head the Amagansett field with 144. pounds each. Last week, they j finished first and third, separated by three I lengths, in the New York Turf Writers Cup. j Pintor has a weight shift of nine pounds in his favor and has schooled acceptably over the local hurdle course. There are two sets of couplings in the Amagansett. Allison Stern will be represented by the improved War Rhodes and Salemaker, with 142 and 139 pounds, while L. R. Troianos silks will be carried by Williamsburg, 137, and King Commander, 135. War Rhodes won his last three starts, improving steadily after scoring with a ,000 claiming tag. He beat Williamsburg almost six lengths last out, though that horse was not helped by an ill-judged ride and had won his previous start. Salemaker has yet to show his best form this year. King Commander won a maiden hurdle here on Monday. The Amagansett field is completed by Louis Prirrias Rythminhim, who often finishes his races well, but finished behind War Rhodes and Williamsburg last out. He is the lightweight of the field with 130 pounds. »
