Lucky Lable After Second Fairmount Score Tonight Matches Strides With Select Field of Five in Bridgeton By C. A. LINDEMAN r Staff Correspondent FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 24. — Lucky Lable, from the stable of the Thompson and Goodwin, will be out after his second triumph of the current meeting when he matches strides with a small but select field of five other sprinters in the Bridgeton Purse, main attraction on Thursday nights eight-race program. Lucky Lable was the victim of bad racing luck in his last out here when he finished second to Dandy G. in the Missouri Handicap. The Thompson and Goodwin sprinter ridden by the veteran race rider Palmer JDo-menico has shown some real top performances here during the first five weeks of this meeting. To date he has two seconds and a winning race to his credit. His last outing here in the Missouri Handicap resulted in his being carried wide on the stretch turn, which may or may not have caused him to lose but at any rate he had to take up momentarily and come to the inside of Dandy G. but could not get up in time. His race prior to that defeat was a top performance as he romped home an easy victor in winning the Mural Purse at five and one-half furlongs over Magnet and Away Away going the sprint distance in 1:05 Vs. Palmer Domenicowill again handle the reins on Lucky Lable. Harry-Lou, from the stable of A. Schroeder, winner of his last start here by a seven-length margin when he turned back Irish Wit and Fancy Food, appears to be a real threat for the winners share of the Bridgeton at the six-furlong distance. His last race was impressive as he took a five-length lead on his rivals entering the stretch arid widened thereafter winning in 1:11. The last time Harry-Lou and Lucky Lable met the Schroeder sprinter finished third in a race that was won by Laughing Fox. Of the others scheduled to vie in the Bridgeton, Silver Valjean owned by K. G. Sickler appears to rate a good chance for part of the ,500 purse. Althought he has only started once §6 far this meeting, he showed a flash of early speed and appeared to be short. His works since that outing have been good and he now figures to be a serious threat. Rounding out the field for the Bridgeton are Fir Appraisal, Barbie B. and Port o Gold.
