Jin wie i/Oiumous mere are six who nave scored during the present session, while among the others are several which have been runners-up recently., in better company. In that category are such as Comic Lad and Arapahoe. The latter campaigner came from far out of it in his last, losing narrowly to Thumb Rock who hung up 1:11% for six furlongs. The former, a three-year-old, has been knocking at the door all meeting, most recently when he lost a head and neck" decision to Desert Raid and Sgt. Ben. Delinda and Gladyss Folly could draw the bulk of public support on the basis of recent form. Delinda came off a winning race to lose by a nose in the last-mentioned Elem Stables filly. Seltzer, from the Golden Pines Stable, will be making his third start here, prior efforts having resulted in a win at five fin-longs and once unplaced. His winter form at Tanforan failed to get him to the winners circle, but he was in the money several times in sharp company. Xmas Chimes, from the string of M. H. VanBerg, Nebraska sportsman and breeder, will be making his local debut and his third start of the season. Off last years form, he figures strongly, although unplaced thus far in the new season. Positive, Pawnee Kid and Miss Etcetera all have found Sar-Ben since May 19 and. at least two of these move up on an "off" track. Yesterdays feature went to Mrs. E. H. Beezleys Pintail Sprig in a tight finish. The winner came from last place on the final turn to close stoutly along the rail and nip the favorite, Styles Dream, just a stride short of the finish line. The pace had been cut out by Petes Beauty who showed the way for better than a half-mile. Apprentice D. Wade, on Styles Dream, took over at the head of the stretch and looked all over a winner from there. But nearing the final yards, his mount drifted out slightly, leaving1 racing room on the inside for Pintail Sprig. The winner returned 2.60 in the mutuels and tallied another victory for jockey J. Thille, currently in the first flight among the reinsmen. Attendance was 7,195 and the handle on eight races reached 57,114.
