STRAWBERRYLANE moved up steadily under brisk handling, responded well when set down through the stretch and disposed of the leaders during the last sixteenth. TICKLER, a keen factor from the start, took command approaching the stretch, continued gamely, but could not withstand the top one. SKY JEEP, never far back, gave a good effort and had ho mishap. MISS KIRK made a bold bid in the early stretch, then weakened. XALAPA STREAK lacked early foot. MiSS NAYLOR took command early, set the pace until inside the stretch, but tfould not stay with the top one. MISS CINDY raced evenly and had no excuse. GOLD FLASH wai unable to reach the leaders when hard urged through the stretch. SWATCH could not keep up-after showing early speed. HELANA W. was never prominent. BESSIE G. began sluggishly and raced wide through the stretch. HOLY CATS tired. RUSHING took command soon after the start, entered the stretch with a good lead, but was briskly handled during the drive to retain a clear margin over ATTENTION MAC. The latter, in hand to the stretch, closed gamely when sent up next to the inner rail for the drive, but could not reach the top one. WHISKEY JOHN, a sharp factor from the start, raced evenly and had-no excuse. TORRENT lacked early speed, but finished fairly well under punishment. SLAMARANTH failed to rally when set down .through the stretch. WEE HASH .was outrun. BU0NGI0RN0 was never dangerous. MULEY showed nothing. JUST-MADE-IT was far back the entire trip". THISTLE WAR, reserved to the last quarter mile, drifted out at the final turn, closed fast when straightened for the drive, but could not get to the winner, although much the best of the others. PAPA FELIX raced evenly and forwardly placed to the stretch, then weakened. GOLDEN PELT was outrun. HELWAN made a bold bid nearing the stretch, bothered IRRITATE after tiring during the drive-and failed to stay. IRRITATE appeared beaten when he suffered mild interference from HELWAN during the stretch run. BATTLE HERO quit after engaging DEEP BLUE for a half mile. Helwan claimed by H. West. VIE raced well and had no excuse. CRACKLETTE was outrun. DR. ALEX, forced to take up sharply when caught in close quarters after the start, failed to recover. WISE PIPPIN showed nothing. The latter, a keen factor from the outset, closed gamely under strong handling, but could not overtake the winner,, just missing. SECOND AVENUE saved ground the entire trip, but could not reach the top pair when set down through the stretch. LITTLE DONOR, on the outside throughout, faltered during the last eighth mile. THE GINK was outrun and had no mishap. ETELKA began sluggishly. SONIC could not keep up after showing early speed. LIGHT MOON showed nothing. MAR HARE raced wide throughout, losing all chance.
