Molly Pitcher Promises Keen Monmouth Contest Filly, Mare Handicap May Draw Starting Field of Six to Eight MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J.f June 24. — While the field hardly will be a large one, Saturdays running of the Molly Pitcher Handicap for fillies and mares * promises to provide a keen contest for week-end visitors. ~ The 5,000 fixture, richest race thus far of the local season, will be decided over a mile and a sixteenth distance and may draw a starting field of from six to eight. Returning to the course over which she won the Oaks a year ago is Marion W. OConnors La Corredora, to be ridden by jockey Ira Hanford, brother of trainer Carl Hanford. Trainer Jimmy McGee, pleased with Occupancys fast-closing fourth in the recent six-furlong Regret Handicap, plans to send Hugh A. Grants mare in the Molly Pitcher. Racing secretary John Turner, Jr., in an early rundown of; probables, also figures Mrs. Gerard Smiths Nilufer, Hal Price Headleys_Aesthete and Miss Constance Morabitos My Celeste as post paraders. Outsiders who might drop into the ranks at entry time include Atalanta, Be Gracious No Score, Dinewisely and Grandma Josie.
