Phillies Gain 10th Straight Victory Over Cubs, 8 to 2 By the United Press Connie Ryan drove in three runs with two doubles and a triple yesterday and scored three times himself as the Philadelphia Phils beat the Chicago Cubs, 8 to 2, for the tenth straight game this season on Karl Drews five-hitter. Drews pitched his third complete game in 20 appearances this year to collect his fifth victory against five defeats. He walked four and struck out four. Both Cub runs came in the ninth, and one of them was unearned as Drews issued two passes and Hamner was charged with an error on what should have been the final out of the inning. Paul Minner was the loser.
