i Homers Men Money in Bank For Braves Eddie Mathews CINCINNATI, Ohio, Aug. 19 UP. Slugger Eddie Mathews of the Milwaukee Braves disclosed today that his home run splurge means money in the bank for him. The Braves star third baseman, who is leading the National League in homers with 38 and is only one round tripper behind Babe Ruths pace in 1927 when he hit 60 for the season, said his contract called for a bonus if he hit 30 or more home runs this season. Mathews wouldnt say how much the bonus amounted to or whether he gets additional money for every home run he hits beyond the 30 mark.
