YANKEE MIDAS, never far back, took command approaching the stretch and drew clear, winning with speed in reserve. CHIPAWOOD, a sharp factor from the start, closed willingly, but could not threaten the top one, although easily best of the others. STAGE LOVER began fast, went to the front after a half mile, but faltered when challenged by YANKEE MIDAS. THEODORE B. had no excuse. COMENOT failed to stay after showing early speed. PLASTIC MISS raced wide through the stretch. MONROE J. was outrun; MANIPULATOR could not keep up. INSTYLE was through early. FARRNANCY showed nothing. Scratched 98183 Speedy Gold, 112. LEFT BANK, forwardly placed from the outset, made a good bid in the early stretch, but could not overtake the top one. MISSAB raced evenly and had no mishap. CAPRICORNIO saved ground throughout, but was unable to better his position when set down through the stretch. RICKSHAW tired. SMART EVE-raced wide. WILD HEIRESS was outrun. HEATHERS VIEW, roughed after the break, was never dangerous. BULL HYDE could not keep up. CONNIE-JO began fast, then bore out badly and lost all chance. VICKI DIANA, a keen factor from the start, took command from PETITE LASSIE approaching the stretch, swerved to the inside when set down-for the drive, but won going away. The latter began fast, set the pace until near the three-quarters mile mark, then was unable to stay with the winner. MIDWEST raced evenly and had no excuse. TAUNTING lacked early speed. ETERNAL SHOCK took command at once, entered the stretch with a clear lead and drew out to win with something left PRINCESS ARAB, outrun and racing wide for a half mile, closed gamely but could not seriously threaten the winner. GREAT NIGHT could not better his position when set down through the stretch. SISTER BIGGER, bumped at the break by CAN PAC, raced well when straightened up and made a good bid in the early stretch, then weakened. SMOOTH PALM was never prominent HI GAIL failed to stay after engaging ETERNAL SHOCK to the stretch. CAN PAC broke to the inside, bumped SISTER BIGGER,.then failed to keep up after displaying brief speed. Overweight Smooth Palm, 3 pounds. LIABILITY, bothered at the first turn by PIRAGUA, displayed brief speed when clear, then weakened. PIRAGUA bore to the inside during the run to the first turn, crowding LIABILITY, and, taken, back to avoid further fouling, failed to enter serious contention.
