Quick Lunch Works Out Good Half Mile in :47 Intended Starter Saturday at Spa; Arcave Goes Mile in 1 :43 SARATOGA, Saratoga Springs, N. Y., Aug. 19. Wheatley Stables Quick Lunch, winner of the Tremont and Waifcfield. Stakes before his bad race in the Flash here on opening day, continues to train impressively for his return to action. Mr, Fitz charge ripped off a half mile in :47 at the Spa this morning in preparation for his engagement in Saturdays Grand Union Hotel Stakes. The front-running son of Blenheim n. stepped the fractions in :22 and :34 in as good a move as any juvenile has made this month. Cockfield Stables Arcave, a probable starter in Saturdays Saratoga Handicap, went a mile in 1:43, handily, in preparation for that mile and a quarter. Maine Chance Farms Incidentally, who finished third behind Evening Out and Riant in the Schuylerville, showed abund-dant speed when she skipped three furlongs in : 35 this morning. She is expected to try to get her revenge in the Spinaway Stakes on Friday. It was learned this morning that Green-tree Stables One Hitter and Tom Fool, who had not been seen on the main track, have been training regularly at the private track beyond the backstretch, near Nelson Avenue. Naturally, their works have not been timed by the dockers, but both horses appear to satisfy trainer John Gaver. One Hitter is expected to pick up his top weight of 124 pounds in the Saratoga Handicap on Saturday, although he failed to give Arcave a similar chunk in an overnight handicap at Belmont Park in the spring.
