Request Stalls for 16 For The Garden State Among Applications for Oyer 500 Made for Coming Meeting CAMDEN, N. J., Aug. 19. Applications for more than 500 stalls already have been received by the Garden State Racing Association for the fall meeting at Garden State E?ark. The meeting opens on October 9 and runs through November 11, with no racing on Mondays except Columbus Day, October 12. Sixteen requests are for eligibles for The Garden State, the worlds jichest race, which will be run on Saturday, October 31. Two hundred and thirty-six two-year-olds are still in good standing for this mile and a sixteenth race for juveniles. The Garden State now has a value of 39,395 and is expected to gross well over the quarter of a million mark. Emil Weiler, general superintendent of Garden State Park, has made many improvements to the stable area for the coming meeting. All the streets have, been regraded, repaired and resurfaced and many improvements have been made to the dormitories. All living quarters have been repainted and brightened up. Each of the rooms is equipped with hot water and hot and cold shower baths are conveniently located for all residents of the backstretch section. All of the barns have been repainted and minor repairs made. Weiler also has completed an extension of 25 acres to the parking facilities of the track. The new lot is located on Route 70 just before reaching the main track entrance on the route from Camden. The additional acreage has been graded, drained and covered with asphalt, and will enable the track to park more than 15,000 automobiles.
