Sickles Image Atlantic Gity Starter Engages Six Other Fillies and Mares Blue Rhymer, I Salute, Miss Shadow May Give Hartwick Runner Real Tussle Today ATLANTIC CITY, Mays landing; N. J., Aug. 19. Speed is emphasized here tomorrow afternoon in the featured ,000 Cloud Sweeper Purse, in which seven fleet fillies and mares are scheduled to match strides at the six-furlong distance. Heading the field is Clarence Hartwicks Sickles Image who, with the benefit of the double "bug" gets in under 112 pounds. Opposing Sickles Image will be the following: John L. McKnights Blue Rhymer, who will have a companion in Imalright, Brookfield Farms I Salute, Guy de La Frer gonnieres Atlanta, Mrs. Alfred Jensons Mollie Pagan and Mrs. E. L. Hawthornes Miss Shadow. Sickles Image, who has been a much-traveled mare during her career, earned in excess of 00,000 last year, but has failed to scale such heights during the current season. Her only victory was accomplished in 1:10 at Arlington Park, but she has yet to turn in a really bad effort. In the Mermaid Handicap last Saturday she was about three lengths behind Atalanta in track record time of 1:23 for seven furlongs. LBlue Rhymer Has Early Speed Blue Rhymer is "a hard-hitting mare who "possesses a world of early speed "and frequently carries it for the desired distance. She was narrowly beaten in the Regret and Rumson Handicaps at Monmouth Park and in her last local outing was beaten three lengths while fourth behind Roaming when that one established a new five and one-half furlongs turf course record of VMYsi Her "stable companion, Imalright hasnt raced since" Florida, at which point she won a single race in a Jialf dozen starts. I Salute has been lightly campaigned this season, starting but three times to date. After two fair efforts, the Brookfield filly won her last outing in 1:11 over the Monmouth strip, which assures her present fitness. In that race she beat Amphispirit, who came back to triumph impressively over" this track. The others in the Cloud Sweeper seem a, bit ambitiously placed, although none of them can be entirely overlooked. Atlanta, not to be confused with the stakes-winning Atalanta, is a French -bred miss who won at Delaware Park and since has been idle. Miss Shadow trailed Buck n Gee recently at a mile and a sixteenth, but boasts a quartet of victories during the year. Mollie Fagan was soundly beaten for ,500 in her last New York start, which is little recommendation. Tomorrow has been designated as Jockeys Guild Day throughout the country and all members of that organization will donate their riding fees to the welfare fund. The local Jockeys Guild Purse matches two-year-olds at the six-furlong distance. Scheduled starters are Errard King, Roman Mirage, Gosh, Modest John, Carnival Cat, j Barclay Joe, Right Bit, Alakatch, Rejane and Swiss Knight, with the last two being coupled as the J. L. McKnight entry.
