Goose Khal to BeSent To Golden Gate Fields Moonrush Slated to Accompany San Diego Winner to Albany ALBANY, Calif., Aug. 19. Goose Khal, who graduated from the ,500 claiming ranks at Tanforan this spring to humble the mighty Royal Serenade at Del Mar last Saturday in the San Diego Handicap, will campaign at Golden Gate Fields during the 40-day meeting opening September 14. The four-year-old gelded son of Khaled is the property of Harry Brown of San Francisco and is conditioned by Willie Al-varado, who is also a native of the city by the Golden Gate. The latter is famed as the trainer of the mighty Moonrush, who also is slated for a Golden Gate Fields campaign after a lengthy layoff. Alvarado claimed Goose Khal for Brown at Hollywood Park on June 25 for ,500. Saturdays San Diego triumph was his third in six- starts in the Brown silks and his initial stakes win. He raced the Hollywood Gold Cup winner head and head to the stretch, and then shook him off to win by seven lengths. Meanwhile, racing secretary Barry Whitehead, who is at Del Mar contacting horsemen, reports that he is receiving applications for hundreds of horses each day. Many thoroughbreds currently campaigning at Del Mar are headed for the Bay area, along with numerous top-drawer performers at Centennial Race Track, Long-acres, and the California Fair circuit. :
