Test 100,000th Sample At New York Laboratory SARATOGA, Saratoga Springs, N. Y., Aug. 19. A copy of a wire sent to Mr. Charles E. Morgan, racing commission laboratory, Hillside, Ave., Jamaica, by commissioner Ashley T. Cole, follows: "Dear Charlie. During your work at the laboratory today you will examine the one hundred thousandth sample taken by the staff of the commission veterinarian to check on illegal administration of drugs. During the past 10 years the work of the laboratory has greatly increased in importance and in daily volume handled. The laboratory has achieved not only a national but an international reputation in a field most important to the integrity of racing. The requests which you annually receive not only from racing commissions and their chemists in the United States and neighboring countries but also from South America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Aus-tralia is a clear indication of the high repute for efficiency and accuracy which the laboratory has achieved under your direction. To you, as director of the laboratory and your able staff, the commission extends it congratulations and the assurance of its appreciation for a job well done."
