ALEIF, well handled, raced within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, responded to urging during the drive and was up in the last strides. MISS NAYLOR began fast, was much used racing RENO RED into defeat and held a short lead when settled in the stretch but could not withstand the winner. RENO RED went to the front early, set the pace for a half mile while engaging MISS NAYLOR, then failed to stay. KAYES GOODS raced evenly and had no excuse. PADDOCK lacked early speed. TRIP LIGHTLY went to the front after three-eighths mile, entered the stretch with a good lead but was briskly ridden thereafter to withstand OPOZO. The latter, on the outside to the stretch, closed strongly under brisk handling but could not reach the i top one. LITTLE DON G. took command early, set the pace for three-eighths, then faltered when challenged by the winner. SUNWYN began fast but dropped back after the start and raced evenly. JANES .PRIDE lacked early foot. HEARTLESS LADY could not keep up. COMPENSATOR failed to stay after showing early speed. The others were never serious contenders. BILLCELLA engaged UNCLE DREW for a half mile, then weakened. BOLING POLLY lacked early speed. BIG HERALDER failed to respond when set down for the stretch run. CALICO CAT was never dangerous. M CORK was outrun. HAPPY VICTOR tired after displaying early foot.
