MOTHER MORRIS, oft well, raced close to MARABOUT after being headed by the latter and, matching strides with him through the stretch, outfinished him in a drive. MARABOUT sprinted to the front after going a short distance and held on well in the final drive. STORMY WATERS improved his position in the stretch and was racing well at the end. SEDULOUS,- outrun early, finished fairly well. PLAYMAN was unable to keep up and failedto be a serious contender. THE WENCH weakened after making a mild run nearing the stretch turn. ABOLISH went to the front at once, and racing as if clearly the best gradually increasec his advantage in the first half mile and was not in danger thereafter. MAJOR EVENT was off well and showed a good degree of speed all the way to be best of the others. JAKIE was a good contender to the-last eighth and weakened slightly near the finish. SPRING WATER also faltered in the final drive. SOME GO was in rather tight quarters early. LITTLE ANDY B. was shuffled back at the start and then came to the outside in the last quarter to make up some ground. BIG UPSET was outrun to the first turn by SUTHERN ACCENT, but was eased back to continue next to the rail and, getting through a narrow opening on the inside in the stretch, drew out in the last sixteenth. FAYS REAPER came fast on the outside through the stretch. STYLE KHAL was never too far removed and saved ground where possible to finish well. FLEECE came from last place to close strongly. AIR MAIL raced under restraint close to the pace until the stretch was reached, then moved forward on the outside of STEAK BONE to easily head the latter in the last eighth and increased his advantage thereafter. STEAK BONE took a good lead soon after the start and increased his advantage after going a quarter but was notgood enough. MY DIVIDEND closed ground to finish well. WAR TEDDY weakened in the last eighth. MAIL FROM HOME raced wide. BIG BARGAIN was bleeding from the mouth when pulled up. CONTY BAY broke well but was unable to keep up. ALIFAIR lacked much early speed and was outrun to the stretch, then raced wide, but displayed fine finishing strength tohead BLACK MAIN and wear down JENJAY. BLACK MAIN was closest to JENJAY when the latter was making the pace and also raced well through the stretch. JENJAY sprinted away from the field soon after the start and, saving ground in the stretch, seemed an almost certain winner entering the final sixteenth, but weakened near the end. ARAB ACTRESS was off well and soon took a position close to the early leaders on the outside, then came rather wide in the stretch, but finished full of run to get to the front in the last sixteenth and won drawing out. LILLAL was quick to begin and quickly opened up daylight on the others, then saved ground in the stretch, but bore out at midstretch and continued gamely when straightened out, but was unable to resist the winner and was doing her best to hold MIMI MINE. The latter was in the center of the pack in the early running and appeared to be in rather tight quarters nearing the stretch turn, then came to the outside to close fast and gamely. EDDIE SUE, while unable to keep up with the early leaders, raced evenly in a commendable effort. DEAR PAT, n close quarters early, saved ground in the stretch to finish fast. FULVOUS was a solid contender in the early stages and was going fairly well when she seemed to be bothered when LILLAL bore out and in rather tight quarters when passed by ARAB ACTRESS. SILVER K was nicely rated while making the pace and weakened after putting up a rather good battle in the stretch. DICTIONARY went evenly in a creditable effort.
