GEORGE ENGEL, a forward factor from the start, held-on gamely while unable to threaten the winner. YOULL LEARN broke alertly, dropped back, rallied mildly, but was unable to make up appreciable ground. FLOOR BOSS had no mishap." WAR TORO broke slowly and passed tiring horses with a late rally. BANSHEE JET assumed an early lead, gave way and remained close .up until the final furlong and weakened. SPLUEY broke alertly, alternated in establishing the pace, weakening in the final furlong. MAJA DE GOYA raced wide when sent up on the outside and was unable to make up lost ground. TWICE TEDDY raced wide down the backstretch, was brought in on the final turn, but lacked a rally. CATALPA, slow to start, was unable to make up appreciable ground under pressure. MASON .COUNTY showed nothing. FLYING FLEET was through early. APACHE PASS flashed brief speed. FOLLY MILLS broke slowly, worked her way up along the rail and closed fastest of all. LOST PENNY forced the early pace,. drew close to the leader along the inside and faltered. TENN. TOMMY rallied after three furlongs, was unable to reach the leader and flattened out. DECORATION, reserved within striking distance of the pace, failed to respond when roused and retired steadily. SQUIRE WILSON broke sluggishly, moved in close attendance of the pace before three furlongs, was sent outside in the drive and closed stoutly to earn a dead-heat with FIRST HELPING. The latter assumed command at once, was under urging to maintain the pace and held on stubbornly after giving way. SIR COUNTRY, forwardly placed on the outside, was forced to lose ground on the turn. BLACK WIDOW dropped back early, was roused after three furlongs, came through along the inside but was unable to menace. DRYOK lacked early speed. MR. CAREFREE was sent up close to the pace along the inside and weakened. The others were outrun. The latter, unhurried while settling into best stride, moved readily when sent up on the outside, closed ground but was not good enough. SOLDIER SON, taken back off the pace and steadied until the final quarter mile, closed with good energy in the drive. CROSS RING forced the pace, getting command in the stretch and weakened. OUR DORIE broke alertly, went along close to the pace for a quarter mile and retired. NAVY LORD moved through along the inside to set a rapid pace for a half mile and weakened. ED THE GREAT, in hand for a mile and a quarter, began working his way up on the outside, was forced to lose ground entering the stretch, responded to- urging to challenge for the lead but was not good enough. BIT-O-MOON, steadied within striking distance of the pace, came through along the inside on the final turn, vied for the lead and weakened. COUNTRY EDITOR went along with the pace under light restraint, rallied when roused but was not good enough. LETS DANCE established the pace until the final furlong before weakening.
