Put Finishing Touches on Six New Barns at ThistleDown Oval THISTLEDOWN, Warrensville, Ohio, Aug. 19. Finishing touches are being put on Six new concrete block barns at ThistleDown and they will be ready for occupancy by the end of the current month. Five smaller barns were- erected in the spring and racing secretary Fred Burton now will be able to stable over 450 runners in new stalls on the grounds. In addition 181 modern tack rooms have been constructed as well as modern sanitary and shower room facilities. The older barns of wood construction have been weatherproofed and the tack rooms located at the end of these structures have been rebuilt of concrete block and fireproofed. ThistleDown has also obtained use of the barns at adjacent Randall Park and the management anticipates that 1,200 runners will be on hand to try for the 0,000 in stakes as well as one of the most liberal schedules of overnight purses in the history of Ohio racing.
