Broke Mark 4 Times in Day The track record for one and one-sixteenth miles at Hollywood Park was broken four times in one day. June 18, 1938, Empress Pelota set the standard at 1 :47 in the third race, Bolamola lowered it to 1:46 in the fourth, Brown Jade reduced it to 1:45 in the sixth and Lawrin traveled the seventh in 1:43.
