AT FORTY was under light pressure to outpace early rivals, drew out from the field after a half mile and won with speed to spare, but then came back very lame. PENNINGTON BOY was shuffled about and eased back early, made a strong run next to the rail after the initial three furlongs and drew away from the rest of the field, then began tiring near the end. CHUM, outrun despite occasional urging, closed belatedly to gain his placing. JET COMMAND gradually weakened. ROCKY REEF faltered. REVEILLE was done after a half mile. ROYAL HOSTESS dueled for the lead racing on the outside, opened a clear advantage between calls in the stretch, but was tiring rapidly at the end. LARCHALL lost ground remaining well out in the strip and closed belatedly. SATIN FLOWER lacked speed away from the gate, came between horses in the stretch drive and finished fastest. MOST CHARMING closed well in the final stages. CURLY TOP and BARCLAY GAL were factors into the stretch and weakened. CORTINA II. was crowded back sharply from between BARCLAY GAL and CURLY TOP on the turn, recovered to race well into the final stages and tired. ROSEY MISS was outrun. OFF AT 3:331 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won easily; second and third driving. PIPING ARMS was urged along racing outside rivals into the final .turn, rapidly drew away through the stretch and won with speed in reserve. SENGA was a sharp contender racing between horses and held on fairly well. She was disqualified for bearing in and shutting off JANDY at the far turn and she was placed last PASS BON improved position between horses down the. backstretch, came to the outside for the final run and hung. GIGGLE was sluggish down the backstretch and closed with a belated. bid. PHARAS BEAUTY had speed to the stretch and faltered. COVER OFF lacked racing room at the far turn. UPSETTER could not keep up. JANDY was a sharp factor when she ran up on the heels of SENGA at the far turn, stumbled badly and dropped out of contention. MARYS BUBBLE held a commanding early lead, continued on resolutely to repulse a challenge from MIMIR entering the stretch, and was rapidly going away at the end. MIMIR began well, appeared ready to wrest command racing abreast MARYS BUBBLE on the turn but badly lugged over toward that rival and had to be taken in hand, then weakened. BUNNYS BABE broke slowly, willingly raced into contention in the opening quarter mile and finished well in a good effort. BISCAYNE BAY lacked a rally. ROYAL MORSE raced wide. MY THESIS quit early. LADY BOUNCER began alertly, was intermittently urged to protect a short advantage and responded under a brisk stretch drive to best MOUNTAIN HOLLY. The latter closely pressed the winner, headed the latter between calls in the early stretch, but was not good enough in the crucial stages. WINSOME WON raced forwardly placed at the far turn and loomed boldly, but gradually weakened thereafter. DAWN HOP had no mishap. NANCES LASS was slow settling into stride. YOUR STOCKINGS faltered. NEWS AGAIN m improved his position racing on the outside under light restraint, willingly responded when set-down for the stretch drive and wasup i to cutfinisn CLOSED DOOR. The latter, snugly reserved behind the first flight, slipped through next to the hedge at the half mile and opened a commanding lead on the turn, then weakened under continuous pressure in the stretch drive RAM 0 WAR saved ground throughout, appeared mildly dangerous rallying on the turn, then weakened. • BRECHIN raced in lumbering fashion early and circled horses, improving position on the final turn. BETTER GOODS was outrun. DINNER WINNER was racing well when blocked nearing the far turn, was taken back and to the outside and lost his speed. NEW DREAM hobbled racing to the first turn and was taken in hand could not reach the front down the backstretch and faltered. V-TWO held his speed for five furlongs and quit. BROWN BOOTER was under restraint racing to the first flight from the outside down the backstretch, quickly moved to the front on the turn, but was steadied while trying to bear out, then opened a clear lead inside the-last furlong and staved off JAMIE K. The latter was taken back and saved all possible ground on the first turn, had to circle extremely wide for clear racing on the stretch turn and finished fast. KASTER raced to the pace going to the first turn, was rated along for six furlongs, then weakened under pressure. BLOOD TEST raced between horses most of the distance and finished well. EUGENE II. slipped through on the inside to reach the front at the half mile, but did not menace when clear. BOBS ALIBI was under pressure showing speed and quit. SOLDIER SON was rated early and quit when urged. GOING AWAY could not keep up. LARRY A., reserved off of the pace, was set down hard for the stretch drive and rallied steadily to catch COUNT FLAME in the final yards. The latter put away NOSTREBOR when ready, opened a commanding lead in the stretch, but failed to withstand steady punishment, then fought it out gamely when placed to hand urging near the end. GINGER BOOTS had no excuse. THEE AND ME weakened. NOSTREBOR easily set the early pace, but quit. APPEASE NOT and BIGDOME bumped at the first turn and neither were prominent.
