VALENTINOIS, slow beginning, circled horses into contention on the first turn, disposed of the leaders under punishment and withstood FREE WILL. The latter was closing well when crowded on the final turn, then finished strongly when clear in the stretch. An objection lodged by the rider on FREE WILL against VALENTINOIS was not allowed. ALLOYED raced through on the inside to loom threateningly in the early stretch, but swerved and weakened under punishment. HARBASH gradually raced to the pace from the outside, gained a clear lead after a half mile, but faltered. OIL GENE did not respond when called upon. LUCKY JONNIE faltered.
