E. Bilbrey; bred by Mrs. R. MacDonald-Buchanan England. IN GATE-5:37. OFF AT 5:37 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. BRECON BEACONS broke well but soon dropped back, but was never too far from the pace and, coming to the outside in the stretch, closed with a rush to be up to catch INSULATION in the closing strides. The latter went to the front early and was taken under restraint while enjoying a short advantage, then responded well in the stretch and just failed to last. STILTON moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch and was close up at the end. WOODSIDE also made a good bid in the stretch. MENTHAPPY moved nearing the stretch turn and went fairly well thereafter. GLADE WELL was in close quarters around the far turn and weakened thereafter.
