McCormack Is Retiring As Lincoln Fields Head Will. Devote Time to His Business And Family Interests in New York LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, 111., June 23.— The following statement was issued today by Charles Aaron, vice-president of Lincoln Fields Racing Association, Inc., announcing the retirement of William J. McCormack as president and director. "For some time Mr. William J. McCormack, president of Lincoln Fields Racing Association, Inc., has indicated his desire to retire as president and director of the corporation and to devote himself exclusively to his business and family interests in New York City, where he resides, now that the new racing plant in Crete has been completed and Lincoln Fields has returned to its home grounds. "Mr. McCormack, who was a close and devoted friend of. the late Edward J. Fleming, assumed the presidency of Lincoln Fields without compensation and solely as an obligation to carry out the cherished wish of his friends to see the Lincoln Fields plant at Crete rebuilt and opened on its home grounds. This has now been accomplished and the beautiful new plant at Crete is a living tribute to the attainment and accomplishment of the goal set by the late Mr. Fleming, under the leadership and guidance of Mr. McCormack. "The directors of Lincoln Fields acknowledge their gratitude and extend their thanks to Mr. McCormack for his devoted service, for which the Fleming estate and shareholders of Lincon Fields will ever be grateful. "The board of directors of Lincoln Fields will meet in the near future, following the close of the current meeting, and will act with reference to the designation of Mr. McCormacks successor."
