Efforts of Two Tribute to White DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 23. — The local performances of Tahiti and. Subahdar are a tribute to the patience and ability of Oscar White, trainer of the thoroughbreds who race for Mr. and Mrs. Walter M- Jeffords. Both of these thoroughbreds won their last starts here and both are racing despite injuries which seemed insurmountable. Tahiti, a four-year-old son of Polynesian— Blue Denim, w a s a stakes winner at two but was sidelined early in that year due to knee trouble. He was being prepped for a comeback as a three-year-old when he Tvent through the inner rail at Belnlont Park and suffered a chipped hock. He has come back this season to display brilliant form, winning a six-furlong race on Saturday in 1:10%, equaling the fastest time of the meeting. Subahdar, on the other handi sustained a fractured sesamoid bone in January of 1953 and did not get back to the races until recently. Just last week he was an easy jwinner at a mile and a sixteenth in M444,£.
