TOURNEY steadily worked way forward to the stretch, bore to the inside during the drive despite his riders efforts to keep him straight, and was up in the last strides to dispose of BILLUP. The latter, forwardly placed and saving ground throughout, established a clear lead during the stretch run but was unable to withstand the top one. DORIE, caught in tight quarters during the drive and forced to take up, failed to recover in time to threaten the leaders. JAMES T. lacked early foot but finished strongly under brisk urging. EXAGGERATED had no excuse. GOATS BEL engaged KATE G. to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. KATE G. took command at once, set the pace for three-eighths of a mile, then weakened. GAY JOY was outrun. CRIMSON DUST showed nothing. SQUAD CAR w-»s far back the entire trip. Scratched— 20119 Biddy Sue, 117; 20000 Hurler, 104. PECKS REWARD, outrun early, was sent around horses entering the stretch and, after taking command, drew clear to win with speed in reserve. BLUE FAY, never far back, closed willingly, but was not good enough for PECKS REWARD. TAFTLA went to the front before entering the stretch, but faltered when set down in the drive.* AIR MISSION tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. BLAZER HORNET made a good bid in the early stretch, then weakened. ADMIRALSCRIPT was never prominent. QUICK STEP was through early. TEA BISCUIT was far back throughout. PIGEON PIE took an early lead, settled for the drive with a good advantage but was briskly handled thereafter to withstand BLACK BILLINGS. The latter, a keen factor from the outset, closed strongly under punishment but could not overtake the winner, although -much the best of the others. COURTESY BOY tired after racing well to»the stretch. PHI failed to respond when set down in the drive. SWIFT WATER had no excuse. MORSE FLASH was outrun. THE SPY raced wide after beginning alertly. SIR RHYMER saved ground while outrun to the stretch, responded willingly when sent to the middle o7 the track for the drive and wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth. ELS FOLLY, well placed from the start, reached the lead between calls during the stretch run but was unable to hold the winner. FRABOTTA, a keen factor from the start, took command approaching the stretch but faltered during the drive CELTIC SPIRIT moved up fast between horses entering the stretch reached the lead but attempted to bear in during the final furlong and could hot be persevered with in the late stages. LIMIT GREENIE was outrun and had no mishap.
