GOOD COUNSEL, forwardly placed and steadied to the final turn, was guided outside of the leaders in the late stages and drew clear. WESTVILLE JACK forced the pace froni the start, gained a slight advantage into the stretch, but was not good enough. SLUGGER CAIN showed good speed, drawing clear after a quarter mile, saved ground and held on gamely after giving way. BEST CHANCE rushed boldly leaving the backstretch, was forced to lose ground and gained steadily in the late-stages. PLUTUS, a forward factor, lacked a closing rally. FINCHHAVEN was taken up sharply leaving the gate, dropped back, responded when in stride and closed stoutly. STAKESPOINT weakened after half mile. TIDEHEAD was unable to keep up. BERMUDA LILY assumed command soon after the start, stayed with the pace after losing command, came out to the middle of the track for the drive, regained the lead and lasted over TWO LUMPS. The latter, close up and on the outside, rallied with good "energy inside the final furlong and was catching the winner. SOUND OF DAWN moved swiftly along the inside to reach the lead after rounding the first turn, continued to save ground and protecting the lead to. the final furlong before weakening. MR. CUMBERLAND was in between horses close to the pace for a quarter mile, dropped back slightly on the final turn and lacked a closing rally. STAR ROVER moved alertly to gain the lead soon after the start, increased the advantage with ease and was not in danger. SOOTZ US broke fast, vied for the early lead and remained in contention to the final furlong and weakened. EARLY NIGHT, forwardly placed, failed to make up appreciable ground. GATO MANOSO, sluggish in the early stages, closed willingly in the late stages. OTROON dropped back after the break, went evenly thereafter. WHIZ showed nothing. GREEK SON lacked early speed. ROYAL REVIEW, fractious at the start, broke sluggishly and was never a. serious factor. YELLOW HOUSE raced close to the pace for a quarter mile, shortened stride and was not persevered with while tiring. DEVILS DREAM raced very wide down the backstretch and was eased up. EXPECTANT drew clear soon after the start, increased her advantage willingly, shortened stride through the final furlong and lasted over CLEAR SWEEP. The latter came through along the inside with a belated rush and was catching the winner. FLYING FLEET broke sluggishly, moved into a forward position, was steered outside on the final turn and swerved slightly under urging. OCCUPY-PASS was taken up sharply leaving the barrier, moved up swiftly when in stride and finished with good energy. ROYAL PALM went evenly. BROOKETTA flashed brief speed, losing ground on the turns. BLINKER LIGHT flattened out after a half mile. ALL PATCH showed nothing. MARENGO broke sluggishly and was never a factor. BILLS SUN was through early. SWEET PICKINGS was outrun. NANCY CLARE opened a comfortable lead soon after the start, shortened stride after drifting to the middle of the track in the stretch and was under constant pressure to maintain the lead. HEARTS BUZZ, roused after a quarter mile to keep within striking distance of the leader, continued on gamely when unable to menace and outfinished IN CLASS. The latter showed speed along the inside, challenged mildly, but. was not good enough. EQUIHAZE broke alertly, was unable to stay with the leader and closed willingly through the final furlong. CUANDEN passed tiring horses. HASKELL was never a serious factor. SWAMP THEATRE made a mild move after a quarter mile, went wide and retired. OUR CHALLENGE was outdistanced. TEACAKE slipped through along the inside to better late position. VILLAGEF moved inside to draw in closest attendance of the leader after a half mile, then weakened on the final turn ROSE BEAUTY had no mishap.
