Klucina Lining Up Field For Fairmount Handicap , ,000 Independence Day Event Expected to Bring Out Harry-Lou FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 23. — Racing secretary Jack Klucina has started work. lining up a field for the ,000 featured handicap that will be offered on the Independence holiday program of July 5. The first ,000 handicap of the meeting was run on the Memorial Day holiday card of May 31. Klucina announced that nominations will close Thursday, July 1 and entries and weights will be announced Saturday, July 3. St. Louisan Art Schroeder, who won the May 31 headliner with his eight-year-old Harry-Lou, is expected to send that one after the July 5 prize, too. Receiving a strong ride from Rafael Sanabria, Harry-Lou defeated Mrs. Tom Pruetts Fiesta Way, May 31 before a rec- rd crowd of more than 14,000 persons. jaJway BQy_took third in that feature. . and Saturday nights, now has moved into a tie with the absent Tommy Osment for the jockey leadership! The suspended pace-setter has 22 winning rides and apprentice Bobby White, from Red Bluff, Calif., refused to give ground. Bob is right behind the two-time jockey champion Sanabria with 21 trips to the winners circle. Carl Daigrepont, who was up on Fiesta Way May 31, also is on the sidelines with a shoulder injury but expects to be back in another week or ten days. Kenny Griffith is ahead of him with "15 triumps, and Leon "Bumpy" Grandsart trail with 13 firsts. General manager Edwin C. Moon said that plans are being made to revive "Collinsville Day" at the track. The occasion abandoned since 1951, is a big day at Fair-mount for the citys merchants. They will give away blankets to owners of the winr ning horses after each of the nine races. The merchants also will sell tickets to help raise funds for Collinsvilles new Tepee, a youth center. In the battle for the top spot among the owners, Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Holman and, Mrs. Pruett are tied with 13 firsts for
