Power Recovering Rapidly; May Leave Hospital Today PHILADELPHIA, Pa., June 29 UP. Outfielder Vic Power of the Philadelphia Athletics, who was struck on the head by a pitched ball in last nights As-Phillies exhibition game, was recovering rapidly today and physicians at Presbyterian Hospital expected to release him Wednesday. It was not determined, immediately when Power would be ready to play again. The Puerto Rican flychaser was struck just above the right temple on a pitch by Phillies rookie Tommy Qualters in the first inning of the seventh annual Junior Baseball Federation benefit game. Doctors said he spent "a good night" at the hospital and his condition continued to improve throughout the day. Power fell unconscious in the batters box when the ball hit his head. He was carried to the clubhouse on a stretcher and regained consciousness a few minutes later. When he was admitted 5to the hospital, physicians said he was "alert and in good condition."
