FLO D., forwardly placed after the start, took command nearing the stretch, gave way momentarily between calls during the drive to WAR NIMBUS, but came again under strong handling and disposed of the latter in the last sixteenth. WAR NIMBUS, never far back, reached the lead between calls during the stretch run, then faltered and was unable to withstand the top one. CRACKLETTE gave a good effort and had no excuse. BOLD BANDIT was unable to better his position when set down through the stretch. CHILOE II. was never prominent. SOME FRIEND was outrun. PRY PAT began poorly. DENBRU, away alertly, was caught between horses entering the stretch and, forced to take up, failed to recover. INSTYLE showed nothing after starting alertly. BROWNSTOWN was eliminated at the start. VYR, away fast,, raced with COMPENSATOR after the start, took command during the stretch run and retained the advantage to the finish while under brisk handling. COMPENSATOR took an early lead, set the pace to the stretch but could not hold the top one. FRABOTTA raced evenly in a sharp effort and had no mishap. DUKES DUCHESS was unable to better her position when set down in the drive. LIMIT GREENIE lacked early foot but finished fast WICKED GIRL had early speed but raced wide while tiring during the stretch run. ONE GAMBLE moved up fast next to the inner rail entering the stretch, then faltered. PIGEONETTE was outrun. MISS BOXER was outrun. COJOC showed nothing. WAR SECRETARY was never dangerous. TIMELY STORY gradually worked way forward to the stretch, responded to strong handling during the drive and, taking command near the finish, lasted to withstand LIL SHRIMPIE. The latter, outrun to the stretch, was sent around horses at the final turn, closed fast under brisk urging and was getting to TIMELY STORY at the finish. SVIDHOD, well placed from the start, was caught in close quarters during the final furlong and could not better her position. BROWN MONK, much used racing ETAMATE into defeat, faltered during the drive. DRAFTING ROOM made a good bid in the early stretch, then weakened. MISS STIFLE began sluggishly. BUMPSY UP broke slowly and was never dangerous. ETAMATE raced well to the stretch, then gave way. WOLVERINE was through early. SEVENTH RACE 1 MILE. Son Charlie, June 30, 19501:375116. The latter went to the front early, set the pace to the stretch under steady .rating, held on gamely during the drive, but was unable to hold the winner, although easily best of the others. GRANDAD dropped back at the start, saved ground while improving position to the stretch and finished well under brisk handling. ALEIF, never far-back, made a bold bid nearing the final turn, then weakened. JACKIES IDOL made a good move in the early stretch, then-gave way. RED RIVER had early speed, but failed to stay.
