The latter was a factor from the start, disposed of STILL HOPING to attain a "clear advantage nearing the stretch and just failed to last. RIGHT STAR wore down tired horses, as did ARDAN LARK. EPPA JEPPA, withjn striking distance while under restrain, flattened out when asked for a rally. STILL HOPING stopped badly after being hard pressed for the early lead. A BIT FAST and BLEN MORE raced together for almost the entire distance, with the former getting the nod. KOJIKI held a clear lead into the stretch and faltered. NORTH VIXEN was never a factor. MINDFUL showed nothing. GRAY BLADE flattened out after the opening quarter. TONYS JOHN, under hustling tactics to join the first flight from the outside, continued to respond well and outfinished VIOLINO. The latter loomed a threat along the inside but was not good enough. CAROL ANN C. raced for the early advantage and faliered. BOMBDRA broke alertly but failed to keep pace. DOCTOR LEO held the lead around the turn and faltered. ROYAL ZEST was extremely rank in the paddock and during the post parade. GRAND OPERA v/as the victim of ROYAL ZESTS roguish actions, having his rider knocked off just prior to reaching the gate.
